Act! looked good and integrates into Sage (?) - so a single customer database ..
I looked at the CRM option that Intuit used to market for QuickBooks, but withdrawn so no good.
At the moment I use a combination of Outlook/QB & QXpress to acheive. Not ideal.
One i'm looking at currently is from WinWeb called ContactCRM. It's online/in the 'cloud' and you pay a monthly rental - 99p a month. ( Again not ideal - reliant on someone else etc etc).
My main gripe is that you end up with mulitple customer databases....
Act @ £190 for 2011 version is'nt too bad, but not overly adaptable to our trade and has a couple of bugs.
Explored salesforce (Cloud based) monthly payment - is ok. (up to £45 pm)
Am now looking at winweb..............thanks for the pointer.

Sounds like you haven't got one, but if you find out that you have, then please let me know.

You're right Alex, but there can't just be me that doesn't know what you're talking about lol...... what on earth is it?
to John www.acegardenservices.co.uk.
Not sure why you are having a rant at Gary after his advise on CRMs, for those who would take the time to find out what a CRM is, his info was helpful.
I asked a simple question and he offered an answer. Is this not what LJN is for?
Oh and CRM is an abbreviation for 'Customer Relations Management'.

what's all this about - totally baffled ?
What have I done to generate such a response - If I have offended you in a previous post - my apologies?
I have never used this site as a free advertising platform...
Back to the thread, for those that don't know - here is a text book description of the subject - CRM:

do you use Act! in a standalone 'mode' or do you also have Sage accounting sw (ie integrated, with one customer database)?
I used to use an old, old version (before Sage bought them) and it wasn't not the easiest system to configure for 'simple use'.
