Demo pro 53 LK

Where do you draw the line between a demo and a used piece of machinery. i purchased a demo etesia pro 53 LK (sight unseen) through a reputable dealer and have been looking forward to collecting it and putting it to work. However when i went to collect it earlier, it certainly had been demo'd.  worn bag, stiff height adjusters and a deck that had met a few to many stones for a walk around the park. At less than 20% off the list price, the bargain quickly lost its shine and i came home empty handed. From what i read here they are really good and my new pro 46 is excellent. What condition should i expect from a demo and with a list price of 2640 vat incl, is £2140 too much. Any advice would be much appreciated.

    i paid £330 for a used   pro- 51 k !!      nothing wrong with it ,  new parts / serviced ......  3 yrs old

     

    new price  £1700 inc vat / grass box..

    Thanks for that Rowly, I am based in northern ireland and the guys around here carry very very little etesia stock. The demo was doing its business (and lots of it!!) over the border and i was so pleased that there was a demo on the island.  The idea of a new LH now sounds like a runner.

    Andrew, that sounds like a better deal than i have on offer in carryduff on a collection only basis. Good to see someone else on here operating in this neck of the woods.

    i went to ohnstons and they tried to sell me another commercial mower instead a german make they dont carry much etesia stock the pro 53 k im geting is used and im only going on photos of it

    Much respect and thanks to you guys who responded and confirmed my gut feeling. Earlier I got the price reduced from £2140 (vat Incl) to £1800 with a 6 month warranty. i have the machine on trial and cant wait to check it out tommorrow. It is a serious piece of kit.
