I currently rent some land with my workshop on, and at the back of it I have four big composters
This usually provides me with quite alot
Phillip - a £1 a bale > that's a good mate to have.
Adrian and Chris - it's good to know your making some of your own. I currently don't have the space to compost but would if l could. Think it's greener, l do try to encourage clients and include in my designs space for composting but often clients can't be bothered, which is a shame!
The point about peat-free; l agree it's important but can't say l've made the mental commitment yet - bit like forgetting the reusable bags when going to the supermarket and having to shamefully ask for plastic bags again. Wonder how many of us have or we just choose based upon price. Maybe the peat-free compost would be another good debate on LJN.
Simon - hadn't heard that about the B&Q compost so good to know. It was at B&Q yesterday l was making the selection and consciously decided not to go for their own brand as l thought it would be lacking... hmm know l know better!
Thanks all.
Does the job ok too.
Adrian, l do agree it's about brain conditioning...
Mic, l'm surprised to say B&Q seem to be getting a bit of a thumbs up for their compost.... Hanging baskets and pots l have used Mircle-Gro Moisture Control with good results for years. This year l strayed away from it and have to say the displays are a little lacking, a little undeveloped and for me generally disappointing!
