another website

i have started building another website, www.andover-paving.com the question is do i use a differant email address for this site or keep it as yewtreelandscapes@btinternet.com i know i will need to get another web address on my van advertising andover-paving, the new site looks very much the same as my existing one as i dont want to go down the road of a complete new business, and they will be linked together and saying it is part of yewtree group, if i use another email will it all get to confusing? any thought would be good

  • the second website isnt the same as my existing one, what i mean is the same layout, this might sound as tho i am being thick, but why would google ban someone for having 2 websites with differant domain names?

I don't think you need a different email address of have to put the new

web address on your van either, or link the two websites together.

The second website should be avertising your existing business Yew tree

Landscapes and not Andover Paving, wwwandoverpaving.co.uk is just

to catch anyone using Google with those keywords.

The second website should not be exactly the same as your existing one though,

    as Google will ban you.

  • Phil,

Have you thought about creating a domain alias for andover-paving.com? ie that address points to your Yewtree Landscaping web site?

Lot easier just to maintain the one web site, and your 'brand' doesn't become confusing.

  • never heard of a domain alias, but looks as tho they are coming through the google pages together any how, i was on page 10 this morning, after a couple of hours of free listings through the usual (hotfrog) (mister what) and a few other i am now up to page three and the new web site isnt complete yet, still loads to do

    Instead of

    yewtreelandscapes@btinternet.com

    why not phil@yewtreelandscapes.com or info@yewtreelandscapes.com

  • john have you looked at both of the websites

Google will not tolerate two websites looking and sounding exactly the same,

They want new information on each website, and not duplicates.

  • its just that www.yewtreelandscapes.com shows basicly every thing i do but www.andover-paving.com is just to get me more driveway and patio jobs, that is what i want to try to do more of this year and having the domain andover-paving will localise it to in and around my area, and hopefully will get me much more of that kind of work, the 2 main words being andover & paving says it all

  • had some more done to the website today, if anyone would like to take a look and give their opinions, not finished yet
