A new Nursery ? YES in Piddletrenthide, Dorset

So, busy packing and all that stuff ready for our move on Monday. Two more days to go,Two more days,We are going to Piddletrenthide,Two more days to go.Are we happy, well possibly , yes, but you would never tell, would you? Crap song though.Had fun with BT setting up a phone/broadband line, so as a result, after Sunday we will be cut off from the world. BT cannot set up a new line, even though there is one currently in place for 10 working days.Mobiles are crap as the reception is bad both at the house & Nursery, so we will have to accept being cut off, stuck in the beautiful Dorset countryside until July 9th. Cheers BT

  • Exciting - all happening.
Side note: We have very bad mobile signals at our house too. A few months ago I went with Vodaphone as they do a signal router that runs through your broadband(when you get that!) called Sure Signal. If you talk nicely to them when taking out a package they will probably throw this in (maybe two, if you need them at house and nursery), anyway - worth checking out :)

We got a phone line with Plusnet, half the price of BT. but still used BT engineers.

    It was about £50.00

    Good luck with the nursery.
  • Thanks all for your advice on phones, etc., or perhaps we were just getting used to the idea of 10 days in isolation in the beautiful Dorset countryside ......

Neither of us are great fans of mobile phones, if fact both pretty anti them, with the alledged damage that they do to their owners and other things, like Bees. I guess for you all work all over the place, they are a vital tools for your Business, whatever did we do before them?

However for us, we are always in a fixed location, Nursery or Home, and the rest of our time is our free time, when we do not want the constant interuption of a mobile phone. We will have answer machines on both, so if someone really wants to get hold of us, leave a message.

So, we will have to "rough it" for 10 days or so with a Pay As You Earn mobile, providing of course one of us remembers to top it up???

    One more day to go.....

Okay, we aware that you all know the words by now!
  • No more days to go

Shortly we will be offline and out of contact from the rest of the world until 9th July.

Hopefully see you all on the other side?

    end of message.........................
  • Interesting and exciting few weeks being cut off from the world, great service BT, NOT. Finally got broadband connection yesterday, moved 28th June, big company = crap service. All of this recent nonsense with hosepipe bans proves this theory, money-making, privatised monopolies with a failure to invest for their customers!. Our complaint letter to BT is only 3 pages so far, but please forgive us, it is is not finished yet.

West Dorset is beautiful, and that is official.

Busy setting up our new Nursery over the last few weeks and meeting other local Growers. Our stock list is gradually coming together and we hope will be finalised by the end of the month.

A few interesting leads and options that we now need to weigh up to decide our future... can't say too much yet, but hold the press, or hold the Blog as it is now...

    Wish you all well
