4-12-12 Lawn Feed. Ok for pots and borders?

  • Client is fed up of wasting fertiliser on a lawn that may be dug up in the future.

Would some bags of 4-12-12 lawn fertiliser by a brand I'm sure most of you are are familiar with be suitable for use as a top dressing for pots and borders? 

Of course a weed and feed would not  be suitable, but am I right I'm saying that this 4-12-12 is probably identical to something sold as a granular  feed?

    At the end that meant to say "granular *shrub* feed"

    It will be fine for steady growth in beds and boarders.

    Yes that will be fine. Good for fruit and vegetable plants too. Dont use very much, a teaspoon for a 10 inch pot would be plenty. Leave 4-6 weeks between applicaitons.
