RUPB450, ProVantage…and Megan Fox?

[Content sponsored by Progreen.co.uk]

The release of the new Roundup ProVantage 480g/L glyphosate herbicide came in with more of a whisper than the usual marketing roar. But certainly gave one last hoorah to the old trusted RoundUp ProBiactive 450 sparking a mini buying spree.

It is pretty common in our industry that we want most what we can’t have: Caseron G, Sodium chlorate, Megan Fox…. and now Roundup450. Progreen has a limited supply of Roundup450 but when it's gone, it's gone and we will all have to turn our eyes towards ProVantage

Here are a few interesting points you may not know about high-load glyphosates and Roundup ProVantage in particular:

  • High Load means less product is used so m2 coverage is greater
  • More coverage per bottle equals a reduction in bottles going to landfill
  • It fits nicely with the Sustainable Use Directive to reduce pesticide use
  • Ground Elder is treated in shrub beds by using a Weedwiper & Provantage, diluted 1:3
  • ProVantage works well at lower water volumes – meaning less re-filling time lost.
  • ProVantage can be used in: knapsack, boom sprayer, Enso saw attachment, weedwiper, stem injectors, Controlled Droplet Application (CDA) equipment, boat-mounted sprayers
  • ProVantage can be sprayed all over Scots pine, Norway spruce & others while fully dormant.
  • Application rates on grass destruction range from 2.25 L/ha to 3.75 L/ha
  • Apple, pear, plum & cherry tree trunk suckers can be sprayed in spring without damaging the tree
  • Newly planted whips need at least 1m diameter free of weeds aroundit to establish properly.
  • The Environment Agency (EA) recommends the use of glyphosate and TopFilm adjuvant to halt the march of some invasive weed species..

"If it's right by a boundary wall it sadly needs to come out. Cherries are one of the worst for causing subsidence. People Are such idiots when it comes to planting tree's."

"Yes it's not always easy to do the right thing for the tree unfortunately whoever planted it put the wrong tree in the wrong place right next to a boundary wall when it was just a small tree .
Once it's pruned I  can't see it adding any value as it…"

"hi John yes its definitely a diy job to me, and i am not mechanically minded whatsoever. The higher end HSA trimmers have actual greasing points where you take the bolt out and put the grease in. The less expensive models you unscrew the plastic…"

"I think ap range you just rub a bit of grease on the cogs every 16hrs. The combi heads I fill up with grease a few times a year, was recommended to me by a stihl engineer. In the winter I clean out all the old grease. I sharpen my hedge cutters with…"
