Artificial grass has led to its significant growth in popularity in recent years and a reputation for being eco-friendly because it doesn't need water, fertilizer, or to be mowed. Plus, the newest generation of artificial grass often looks good enough to fool us into thinking it’s real!
Artificial grass can give you a perfect lawn all year round, no matter what the weather or how shady your garden. A far cry from the astroturf of school football pitches, synthetic grass can be bought in a wide variety of appearances and textures with a range of thicknesses, pile heights and colours, giving your garden a deceptively realistic grassy feel. With so many choices you can be sure that you will find the perfect product for your space.
One of the main benefits that everyone is talking about is how Artificial grass actually is. It can be used almost anywhere, from the walls in your office to a makeshift rug in your living room. In addition to the weird and wonderful uses, you have the basic uses too.
Another one of the main benefit is low-maintenance solution to the problems caused by well-used spaces and the great British weather. Artificial grass gives you a lush, safe and hard-wearing surface, which means the whole family can enjoy the garden all year round, whatever the weather is!
There's minimal maintenance involved - no mowing, spiking, feeding or watering is required, just the occasional brush and regular hosing down to remove dirt and leaves.

Children’s and pet friendly
Without a natural grass environment, moles, insects and other pests will no longer be drawn to your garden so you can be confident that your garden is pest free, adding to it’s already lengthy life of up to 10 years. A reasonably quick and easy job to install, an artificial lawn can give you a luscious green garden to enjoy all year round.
You will need to occasionally wash the surface with water, a hose and brush should do the trick. A pressure washer should only be used on the lowest of settings. Using a high powered pressure washer can shift the sand under the grass or lift the artificial grass up altogether.
One of the biggest problems with this type of grass is mud/dirt collecting on the surface, if this isn’t cleared frequently weeds can grow and the whole thing will look grubby and awful, brushing and the occasional wash is all that is needed to keep the artificial turf looking great.

Just a quick thought, which really upset me as think its great stuff. The media is covering carcinogenics and artificial grass of late. So I am currently put off using it. Would be great not to have to grass cut constantly also :)
Hold hard on the environmentally friendly bit. Real grass transpires, which has a cooling effect. Foliage and grass have been shown to be a vital addition to cities and towns to reduce the heat-island effect. Artificial grass gets hot and so contributes to the heat-island effect.
Don't forget if your "lawn" is overhung with trees you'll get bird droppings, possibly in large quantities, which disappear into real grass - unlike artificial grass.
