A lot of you will know that Cat and I are planning a move down south after Cat got a promotion earlier in the year. That was in July and we still don't seem to be any further down the road to relocating than we were back then. September has been a month full of distractions - every weekend has been taken up with doing something for someone and we've hardly had a moment's rest. Cat's now travelling down to London on a weekly basis, just two days / one night a week but it seems to really tire both of us out. Add an unhealthy dose of manflu (since Tuesday, sniff) to the mix and even less gets done!Well, that's a bit of a disclaimer and probably slightly misleading. It doesn't feel like we're any closer to the move down to London / Surrey but I think we have probably got quite a bit done. It looks like I've found someone to take over some of my gardens when we move away which is a bit of a relief. I've lived about 50 yards from him for nearly five years and only just got round to introducing myself. He's a jobbing gardener with a lot of small clients but he's interested in moving into the larger domestic gardening market which is where I've been targeting myself for some time. It's now looking uncertain as to whether I'll be able to make a go of gardening down in Surrey when we move down there. I can't afford not to be working for any length of time at all and it's going to take a while for the business to build up again. It's not the end of the world closing down the business, though. I can leave Yorkshire knowing that the business hasn't failed and still has some longevity to it. I'm hoping the fact that I've successfully run my own business for four plus years will stand me in good stead with potential future employers, and I've certainly matured throughout the course of running it. I've started the jobhunting already and am applying for anything which looks interesting and challenging (I even thought of antique dealing for a while but that's still not reliable enough...). It's actually quite exciting as there seems to be so much on offer out there. I'm sure a couple of months of jobhunting will soon restore the cynicism though... On the upside, I will actually enjoy having the time to work in my own garden again without it being a busman's holiday! For the meantime, I have a busy Autumn planned. September through until November is always a busy period as there's all that cleaning up to do. I'll be sad to leave my gardens but at least I know they'll be left tidy and in a much better state than when I started on them...

"We tried the grin but massively overpriced, the mulching performance no better than our 537HRX HY'S, not tried the Etesia but the HRX gives us the ability to collect when we need to without messing about with mulch plugs or swapping blades"
