  • I'm sorry but no! There are to many variables in that guide to know where to start!

A hardcore subbase compacted with a sledge hammer? Really? Fine if your only doing a square metre.
  • No chance! If they showed how it should be done their sales would more than halve!

  • how to guides make me laugh. so paving slabs are inexpensive and its a quick and easy thing to do. Its like anything its down to you to inform customers of their expectations. We are laying one at the moment and despite everything being laid out in the quote he was still surprised that it was being laid on a full mortar bed and the amount of work and materials that goes into it.

i fail to understand why companies like wickes and b and q have such poor information. i guess the idea is to make it look so simple that people will do it themselves and buy the products. They don't really care if it lasts a couple of years i suppose
