Personally I never consider VAT until...
when someone quotes a price, they fail to mention that element...
as a consumer I have come to expect VAT to be included in the price displayed
it baffles me that
some companies quote prices without VAT being added & make no mention of it
timber saw mills are quite good at this, arghh!
So Ofer a person who is VAT registered gives a better service, or the service I offer is inferior to a person who is VAT registered in your opinion.

Hi Ofer,
I don't think it matters whether you are VAT registered or not.
In any one working week, I work alongside both VAT and No VAT registered business people and companies. They are not chosen by cost but buy the service they provide and the quality of there work.
There is a flip side to this VAT debate and that is as a VAT business it actually works out more expensive for us to use non VAT business in the supply chain if they supply there own materials as we are unable to reclaim the VAT portion of there costs, which actually makes them more expensive than a VAT registered business where we can reclaim the VAT in there material and parts costs.
Hi Lawn lover,
For me , it really does not matter if i deal with large or small firms ,
as a very general thing , i found many small firms to give better customers service but i also deal with many large scale firms when they offer a good customer service to me.
My question is entirely trying to find out weather it is true that some are impressed with large firms or will only deal with large firms ? When you read that a firm is vat reg or employ many people does it really makes anyone more comfortable or confident to work with such?
