Hi, I bought a Stihl HS56CE about a year ago and it has been a very good machine. I liked it because the blade looked very well made and it was extremely light weight for a petrol machine.
As long as it's kept sharp it's fine (the45)
Both good but prefer the lighter one. If you go for it get the 24 inch as its better balanced
One crucial difference is the vibration levels. The HS45 has terrible vibe levels for both hands, meaning that it can only really safely be used up to two hours per day. It is not really suitable for long term commercial use, other than the odd bit here and there.
The commercial machines have vibe levels low enough to be used safely all day.
You need to watch these sort of things as an employer. Lots more reading here: http://www.hse.gov.uk/vibration/hav/advicetoemployers/responsibilit...
Personally speaking I can't use the HS45 for any length of time without it killing my hands. I use it as a backup machine only. The larger commercial models are vastly superior, despite increased weight.
The big ones I use the big one or the long reach.
