Here id say would be a good start how much are you looking for ? are the stihl attatchments for the combi system ? id also be interested in the hayter 48 at the right price
Stihl reckon Ebay are easily the best bet despite the fact you can lose nearly 10% with charges. If the item is being collected,as the large items invariably are, ask for "cash on collection" which saves 4% Paypal charges.
Stihl fetches good prices on ebay regardless of condition, you can often terminate the auction once you've found an interested buyer and circumnavigate getting overcharged. Particularly if their collecting in person and paying direct rather than getting screwed over by the paypal charges as well
Pick a free listings weekend and it helps with ebay. My attitude is that you're more likely to get a better price there, with the wider audience, so the seller's fees are worth it.
Have you tried the local suppliers and repairers? Chances are they might know people needing new kit, and might even take the lot off you to sell on.
Sorry to hear you are thinking of packing it in Stephen. I would suggest posting what you have for sale in the Bristol group first and then in the main forum after.
Best wishes.
Ben
Sorry to hear that you are thinking of packing it in Stephen...is there anything we can do to help before you make the final decision?
If you feel you have to leave the industry then why not list the items you have for sale on here? I can add this to the newsletter for you.
I'm pretty sure people on hear would help you value equipment to help you get the best price for them if you are going down the ebay line. I would be interested in the mantis.

Thought about mentioning that but it's strictly against Ebay rules and if too many people started doing it, that would be the end of Ebay. I also feel its very unfair for a seller to terminate an auction in this way when other prospective buyers are likely to be watching the item with a view to putting in a bid at the last moment.
It never ceases to amaze me of the price people will pay for Stihl items that are listed with serious faults...... the cost of the replacement parts must outweigh any gain from buying a defective machine. Also secondhand items that are only say 10% cheaper than a discounted new price.
Sorry to hear that you are thinking of giving up Stephen.
I know only too well how bad things can get but honestly believe most gardening businesses can be turned around and fairly quickly if the desire is there.
Maybe a few of us can help mentor / encourage you to try and ramp up your business? Failing that why not consider selling the business rather than asset stripping it - once people smell someone packing in the vouchers will be circling you in no time!
True, I buy everything on ebay and used to sell a lot but its becoming less and less worthwhile as a seller, you might get free listings occasionally but that doesn't save you a lot and postage isn't cheap either. I got the postage on a sale wrong at Xmas - I'd have been better posting the guy a tenner.
