Showcasing the artificial garden of tomorrow.

Here's a solution for anyone who dreams of having their own garden but doesn't fancy the hassle of pruning, weeding and repotting. James Burke (pictured above) explores an artificial garden that contains synthetic grass and plants made from polypropylene. Instead of fly spray, how about a polish? Forget the lawn-mower, just get out the vacuum cleaner to keep the plastic grass neat and tidy.

Brilliant. I wonder why the plastic flowers didn't catch on?...

    Thanks for sharing Phil.

  • Interesting.

Back 30 years ago, when I was involved with a local senior amateur football club, the Chairman decided he wanted to diversify and construct an all weather floodlit tennis court. Rather than go to a specialist company ("too bloody expensive") it was a little project he took on himself. All looked fantastic on completion until the first 'real' tennis players arrived for the gala opening. "Whack", the first ball fizzed over the net, only to shoot along the ground and hit the receiver on the foot!

That was the first and about the last time the Court was ever used for tennis and all 'subs' had to be returned. In his bid to save some cash, Mr. Chairman had allowed the contractor to lay a totally unsuitable artificial grass!
