What would you do?

HiAround August 2006 I was approached by a large conservatory company here in the Southwest, to design and install a large display area on a piece of land they had leased from a gardens centre.Despite all the surface water running off on to the material holding area and hard cold winds rolling off Dartmoor, the project ran on time and to the budget. My concerns are these, I donated a £3000 s/steel water feature into the design as an eye catching focal point, of which the sales team for the conservative company insists on running dry in the warmer seasons.I have been maintaining such display every 6 months, picking up numerous packets of smokes , crisp bags, weeding, even a small bag of dog mess !These people have not taken heed of my requests, and i feel enough instructions have been issued regarding simple care of my products, the time has now come for me to remove this water feature and bring it back "home"the conservative company will not allow me to advertise the fact that the area is my works, i have glued a same plaque to the face of the water feature, which does not please them at all.Would you take the unit away or put up with their "taking the Michael" ?Kerry

  • Hi

It's your time and property but if it were me I'd take it down ASAP as we're entering the busy season and I wouldn't want the hassle of dealing with these people to distract me from earning.

From your wording which says "donated" you may have a problem regarding who owns the feature now. I hope all was made clear when you first installed it if it was just on loan.

  • Thanks all

My train of thought was always, well for the last fortnight, to remove the unit sharpish, infact now you few people have advised me , as well as my Lizzy, it'll be my first port of call.

I shall be waiting, like a drunk at his local in the morning, outside the garden center armed with snips and a length of hose pipe to drain the sump.

I'll have the courtesy to place a medium sized silver comet in the void

This forum is great for live opinions and advice

    Keep it up gentlemen
