Weibang tips

Hi all fellow Weibang owners and other mowers too :-)

Today was the wettest so far for my new one and found I was having to cut 1-2 settings above what I would be cutting on if dry and then going over it again at that lower setting.

This meant I could go longer before I bunged up, have you been finding it the same ?? Any tips other than keeping bag clear and sharp blade to over come the double mowing or is just the deal in the rain ?

Thankfully the growth wasn't great from last mow but to be honest given all the thumbs up from other owners I'm a bit disappointed it struggled today .

Cheers

Ben.

PS saw one on my holes on Bieth Scotland, any one from here?

        • thanks is it not possible to fit the high lift blade to both machines

It seems to be that all manufacturers fit lower drag blades to BBC machines to give the clutch an easier time.

I suspect there will after market blades available but just consider the above...

This of course goes for all BBC mowers, as far as a higher lift blade will cause more strain on the clutch.

No, the bolt configurations are different, the BBC blade is high lift, just not as epic as the non BBC model.

Also , the Weibang doesn't like being flipped over to brush underside the deck. It takes a bit longer to start afterwards. Still, it looks bombproof in every other facet!

the kawasaki engines are all a problem to start if been turned on there side

not saying your doing anything different to what i do i got same engine on a john deere mower and whenit been on it side it a pain to start ,i think they say to fold up the handles and tip it backwards

Hi, they don't like being on side as it dumps the carb fuel into engine and floods it. If you have to turn on side then turn the fuel tap off on Kawasaki models and run it till it runs out of fuel first. It is also worth noting that the Weibang are designed so that you can fold handles and then stand the machine upright on the back wheels for cleaning. This stops a lot of the restarting issues. It will sit there for easier cleaning.

To minimise problems with mowers not wanting to start after being on their side, you should always flip them towards the oil drain (and away from the carb/air filter) Otherwise you will flood the carb and you can end up with oil in the air filter.

They can still not want to start afterwards though, just let them rest ten minutes.
