weedy lawn- best lawn weedkiller

Hi have fed a lawn, to be honest i think it was just feed down on it, its greened up nicely but weeds present,  its full of clover and selfheal and butterucps etc.  I have some depitox.  Now if i spray the lawn will the weeds dry up and leave holes?  I dont to make it worse than it already is but client moaning about weeds in the lawn.

Is depitox the right product for the job?

also whats the application rate for 5 ltrs?  can i just spot spray the worst areas.

thks

I tried that weed killer and not as good as the banned ones. We use another one but can't remember the name! Rate we used was 300ml 20l
  • Used Polax which was recommended by progreen on here. Cheap and have had fab results on clover/daisy's etc.
  • Is it ok to spray today we hace a hot week ahead of us. Will this affect it in any way?

Ok to spray in warm-ish weather with a small breeze but avoid hot, direct sunlight as you risk evaporation and scorching the grass. Overcast is best. If its humid, drying time will be extended so advise customer/ pets/ children etc

  • depitox is a herbicide targeted for ragwort, try holster xl or the new longbow, blanket spray the area with a fan nozzle job done

  • I use Pastor for treating weedy lawns. Application rate of 30ml per 5 litres. Always worked really well for me.

  • You really need to apply this more accurately than just x amount in 5 litres of water............. you need to know the area and then work out how much concentrate in how much water to apply to it. You can just spray the bad areas but it's difficult to work out the doseage............... I'd do the whole lot..... it's quite cheap stuff.  Yes..... you may well end up with some holes/bare patches though you'll probably find there's grass under the clover and buttercups...... hopefully!

Re-act ultra isn't a bad product. Use it frequently, 280ml to 20L of water. Drop down to 250ml if temperatures rise to 25c and above
