Vine weevil killer...Which is most effective?

Hey guys,

This is my first post..........I have a large commercial site which I maintain, which recently I have taken over.

I have noticed the Viburnum has been desecrated by Vine weevils and looks in poor condition.

Obviously I know the grubs eat the roots & the adults eat the leaves etc.....But my question to you knowledgeable gentlemen is which is the most effective currently available?

1: Provado

2:Ultra clear

3: Nemasys (the organic choice)

Any feedback greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Ralph

  • I wonder if it's actually viburnum beetle..... they're a quite common enemy of the viburnum. I use Provado Ultimate Bugkiller.......... works well.

    • Could well possibly be those little critters, guess I'll have to wait a little bit longer to see who the culprits are, lol.

      Thanks for the reply.

    Hi Ralph,

There is a product called Calypso that has an extension of use on it for drench applications agains Vine Weevil and is very effective too, widely used in the commercial horticulture market.

Give me a call or drop me an email and I will give you some more information on it.
