Viewing invoices on QuickBooks

Hi

For some reason, numerous clients aren't able to view the full invoice they're sent through QB's and invariably I get an email back asking for payment details?

Am I missing something in the settings,is it dependent on the kind of device being used or are most of my customers seriously lacking any tech savvyness?

Thanks for any help.

May sound strange comment, but have you emailed yourself a dummy invoice to see what is actually being sent out?

Our desktop QB works differently, so otherwise can’t help ...

Or copy yourself in to all invoices sent. I started doing this after a problem of invoices not being sent. Now I know if I get them then client should plus for your issue you will see what they see

Yes,I'm able to click on "view invoice" and it opens up to reveal the full details.

I have experienced them not being sent and also the "viewed" status not functioning as you'd expect. Last night a client said they were able to view the invoice once they'd saved it as a PDF,so maybe that sheds some light on the issue?

    Thanks guys.

  • This info relates to QB Self Employed. The invoice the customer receives is an abbreviated version without any bank account details. They have to click through on a link to see the full invoice which shows the bank details.
In my experience, after asking customers to forward a copy of there invoice to me, some times the click through link does not work.
  • In the general settings for QB Online there is an option to attach PDF invoice to the "Send invoice" function. Try: Account & Settings\Sales\Online Delivery. Check you have the Attach invoice as PRD check box enabled as it covers all options then and the file size is negligible.
