Use GPS for locating sports field markings

We are new to commercial grounds care but now manage six schools. Easter is the time for removing the goal posts etc and setting out for summer sports of athletics, rounders etc.

We spent hours setting out the various sport positions, and wish to retain those grid points together with the current locations of the football and rugby posts, and therefore I am wondering if any of you use a GPS device or perhaps an App which can retain this data for use at a later date.

Any thoughts gratefully received thank you.
