Does anyone know where we could get pre-cast concrete planks for a boardwalk on the shores of a Scottish loch? The aim is to use them instead of wood which would become slippy and treacherous in our climes. Plenty of options in the States but looking for a UK supplier. Does anyone know of any? Very many thanks.

Not quite concrete planks, but would concrete sleepers be any good ?  http://www.railwayrecycling.co.uk/recycled-sleepers/concrete-sleepe...

    • Probably not for this project but I definitely like the idea for a more urban one.

  • is the idea that they look like wood?

    • Yes, with the imprint of a plank of wood but so that you can still tell they are concrete and not concrete masquerading as wood.

    Hi Nicola

    What about these from Stonemarket?

    • Hi Phil, thanks, I will take a look at them. Nicola

      • that's what I was thinking phil. only thing I would say is they are not that strong if they were used to span bearers. if I was doing it over water, then I might consider using a concrete beam system underneath with the planking over the top

  • Try robeslee concrete, they supply all concrete products to builders merchants all over Scotland, think they are based in bishopbriggs area, they do precast Intel's and everything else, I'm sure they could come up with a solution for you
    • Thank you very  much Peter, I will look them up.
