This is the previous map:
I have run the landscaping awards data through Google maps for 2015/16.
Interesting geographic profiling once again.
The current maps shows APL & BALI have a London/south east bias and Marshalls awards predominantly closer to their Yorkshire base.
I'll separate the maps out as individual images when I get time.
I'll also add SGD data as well as other award data available.
It's obvious Phil, Birmingham & West Mids, East Mids and the South West just don''t have any good landscapers or landscaping projects.
It seems unlikely, but these maps prove it?
I don't do hard landscaping at all but if I did I would not want the attention it would draw (as I really don't like that kind of thing)
I know way at all am I being funny Richard, but I saw this link on twitter and I thought it might appeal to you

Lots of things to take into account and I would say mostly population density and wealth which the South East has plenty of both. The belt in the N.East is also densely populated with some of the largest cities in the country.
It figures the more populated and wealthy the area, the greater the need for services of all kinds.
I think it's a bit unfair to say certain regions don't have good tradesmen and as Richard says there are those who don't bother submitting work. Maybe they don't need to!
Personally I think the map data shows how disproportionally these organisations have marketed themselves. There's strong evidence to suggest that the UK as a whole will never be truly represented or supported.
Of course, I believe that as well. I'm positive that there's an even spread of excellent designers & landscapers throughout the whole country. And clearly there will be a higher density in large population areas.
The fact that we are aware of general population densities throughout the UK allows us to the view the above maps as dis-proportionate, something has gone astray and that must be the very organistions purporting to represent the industry.
Whilst there will be always be those that shy away from awards & the publicity & consequential marketing benefits this generates, equally there will be plenty that embrace it wholly.
Real evidence!
And for comparison purposes, an uptodate map of the LJN member distribution, will no doubt demonstrate a variance to the above data.

There used to be a map app for Ning networks that would have shown us this.
I'm not sure how I can extrapolate the data from the records I have and create a similar map. I'll take a look.
