Richard, it's a very 'dry' subject to try to pick up via 'distance learning'. The course summary looks comprehensive, but pyhiscally seeing, investigating, discussing and performing this style of work is key otherwise one can become an 'armchair expert' only.
I assume there is no physical aspect to the course(s) ? You could achieve that approach much more easily/cheaply with some good lawn care books.
Are there no local land based colleges that provide short PT hands on courses in your are ?
May be worth approaching people like David Hedges-Gower who has done courses on lawn care....
Also, take a look here.....
Thanks. I'll try some books first and then make a decision after that.

Hi Richard
I did a greenkeeping/amenity turf care course at Sparsholt college (Winchester).
It was one day a week for 2 years.
Thanks. I bit too far for me, I'm based in the West Midlands, but if I can find something similar up here I would seriously consider it. Only been able to find online courses so far and, as Gary says above, these lack the hands on experience. I have my own lawn to practice on in the meantime though.
