tree surgeon Edinburgh based website images

Hi and thanks for reading.

I've recently updated our website page for tree surgeons using "stock images" i.e. using images from "thinkstock" and "adobe"

The tree surgeon images can be found at

tree felling

tree trimming

stump removal

tree crowning

tree pollarding

does anyone else use "stock" images for their tree surgeon services?

are there any downsides to using stock images for tree surgeon?

thanks

I have to ask have you actually tried reading your own web site content out loud to yourself?
It comes across as gibberish because it's constantly repeating itself (more than my wife if that can be believed!)
As for stock photos I've never understood the need for it. We all have phones these days that take reasonable/good pictures why not take some pics while working?

      It is certainly very repetitive.

Have you considered that the photos should be of your own work?

A guy was prosecuted and fined for putting photos of people's block paving on his website which was not his own work.

    Hiya Andy,

If they're stock photos and royalty free ( or you paid to use them under license ) then you're not infringing any copyrights, so will be fine to use.

I'd treat them as 'place holders' until you can generate your own photos, which is always prefable.

I'd make no reference on your website that they are examples of your work, thus not misleading anyone.
    • Hi everyone

thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.

yes these images are just placeholders till i get my own images up there.

yes, the copy on the AMP version of the website needs some work as well!

      thanks

How Do You Qualify A Sales Lead?

I don't know about you, but our phones and emails are starting to get busy with enquiries. I've learned over the years that it's all too easy to answer the phone, arrange a consultation and then spend a couple of hours with a prospective client…
