With effect from 24 February 2016 Defra will be introducing new legislation to extend the current statutory notification scheme that applies for imports of Castanea, Fraxinus, Pinus, Platanus, Quercus and Ulmus to include all Prunus planting material.

This means if you are planning to import this genera (including young plants and seeds) from another EU member state into England or Scotland via an English port, you will be required to notify in advance, and no later than 5 days after landing, the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) on the eDomero system (http://edomero.defra.gov.uk).

Details on how to register and user guidance are given on the Homepage. In exceptional circumstances, notifications can also be made by email to planthealth.info@fera.gsi.gov.uk during office hours. Imports from outside the EU are already subject to statutory notification using the PEACH system: http://www.fera.defra.gov.uk/plants/plantHealth/documents/importsPeachFileUploadApr11.ppt

Similar Scottish legislation will come to force on 21 March 2016 for landings at Scottish ports. Full details of these arrangments can be found at http://www.gov.scot/PlantHealth/ImportsAndExports.

IMPORT NOTIFICATION OF TREES form which can be down loaded from from this site, should be used for all shipments even if it is for onward delivery to England.
