  • well whateverr it is i dont think there alot they can do though... that my only symptom. mainly when i ben my head down
  • You need a few days rest, stretching, and then probably to buy some more expensive equipment with lower vibration levels. What tools do you use now (brands etc)?
  • stihl long pole,  dont strimm that much , hater 48 pro mower...  i really duno what it is unless when i did my back in few months ago i had cripling sudden pains were i couldnt move and mite of damaged something then..... ive given up the weights too
  • ok guys thnks will do if worsens in meantime im will battle on and have a helper to ease the pressure now.

Ian, not directly related but for the future:

Go to a good hire chain and get a copy of their traffic light vibration guide to tools (now mandatory for hire shops based on HSE directives). Pick a chain that uses, say, Stihl and it should be reasonably accurate.

It lists all machinery in a grid format and classifies them green, amber and red and then gives max daily usage times and whether breaks or continuous use affects you.

It's a starting place and at least makes you think....

  • yep good pointer ...
  • Don't wait until things get worse Ian. You're obviously concerned enough to ask us what we think, go and get it looked at asap.

its a trapped nerve or sciatica -  go to gp asap before it gets worse . id stop work for a day at least.

if your injured u will need months never mind days,...

i have   'white finger' which it could be as stu says we are not experts.

rest, hot bath , cup of tea ....... hot/cold ! shower ,  parecetemol ?? take it easy  good luck

  • i know im not meana self diagnose but think its this

  • i really dont think its vibrations from tools i will have to go back and get checked out thought. its not like i hedge cut all day... i did see the doc done a few small tests bending hands etc and all seemed ok and no pains. i will have to get more advise from docs....
