This Horrible space.

This Horrible space is in fact my own garden!! Cringe. I`m ashamed of it but intend to crack on with it and make it good again.I`m just wanting to pick your brains and do a quick brainstorming session to get some ideas together on what to do with it??? HELPThe Rabbit (fudge) seems to dominate the garden, but the missus says he should always take center stage as he`s her baby!! lolAny ideas would be greatly recieved.I`d like a patio/terrace and a lovely lawn.Cheers Jim

  • If you want to talk rabbit-friendly plants - just let me know - we have 3 little 'fluffy bundles of joy' and a garden designed around them and their needs!
  • Are you sure that is a rabbit you have caged Jim? :-)
  • Yes, already had an idea to use some sleepers maybe as a raised veg plot.

Maybe a small water feature coming out of a terrace wall??

  • Hi Jim,
What a fantastic space to work with!
Had several bunnies free range in the past loving their company all over the garden. My biggest destruction problem was mainly on small woody trunks and stem in periodical steeth sharpening activities. And the odd race to save the telephone lead! Chicken wire wrapped around the bases of srubs and perenials provided total protection from felling but obviously looks a bit grim in less mature borders etc. I also embedded galvanised weld mesh just under lawn surface to scotch tunnelling.....Yep. Another total bunny nut. I love Cat's images of their shared environment. Raised planting and wire tunnels sounds good combo. Anyway, I've side-tracked getting a bit excited about the bunny co-op bit. More to the point, just received newletter from green gardener advertising 'Grazer's'. I havn't used but marketed as a completely harmless and totally effective plant spray repellent of pigeons, dear and rabbits. Apparently contains nutrients that actually help the plant repair itself from previous grazing damage. How good does that sound??? http://www.greengardener.co.uk/
I'm off to search for equivilant in skincare!
  • Now I am a big softy and have nothing against fluffy bunnies but do you really want to focus your garden around thumper? What is their life expectancy anyway – I know I am probably the most hated person on LJN now and I am still not convinced that is a rabbit you have caged up Jim :-)
