I have those days. quite a few.
recently bought a Viking mower, worst mistake ever , had to have 2 new drives fitted and its just less than 8 months old, apparently made of nylon the components of the drive.
Nothing is made like years ago
On way home Monday propshaft went on l200, waited ages for AA as they sent the wrong truck, so while that in garage, used the car
Got rear puncture told unrepairable and should replace both tyres on rear to make them same as advise same running across axle. On changing tyre dropped phone, you get it screen smashed.
Then to make myself look silly, I need to have a quote submitted, one of my clients has put me forward to tender at a factory he manages, problem is have to submit cosh and risk assessments, never done that before, as mainly domestic side, so probably going to look a right idiot.
My mower is a Viking too. Total crap. Especially the grass box. One has to use the hand to get grass out. Won't shake out. Gonna get rid of it next year. Mines only 4 months old.
mine doesn't have grass box, I thought they half be ok, as part of stihl
It has protection for blades which isn't bad, just drive wearing terrible
What model Vikings do you have? Stihl customer service got on to me about the repeated failures on mine.
cant remember its the mpt4 model or something its one with kohler engine.
here bought it from said they never had any problems but said they hadn't sold any of that model apart from mine
To be honest you can't expect a lot from one of the lower-priced mowers as a domestic machine, let alone in daily use and being in and out of a van.
The MB950T is only slightly wider, but far more suited to regular use. I've not heard anything but good things about the Viking 4-wheeled machines, which was why I asked.
Have a look for a used Etesia Pro 46 self-propelled. Small, light, almost unbreakable, fantastic in the wet. It might take ages to fine one, but a much better bet if you aren't able to go for a more pro machine new.
no grass box so is it a mulcher ive considered moving over to these are your customers happy with bits on the lawn?
If it mulches properly then there are no bits left on the top. If they were to brush over the lawn then a few bits would flick up. I find mulching most useful on 'show lawns' from a distance as it looks just as good as a collected mower (from the desired viewing angle) but gets all the benefits of mulching.
