Not sure about you - but I spent a lot on equipment on setting up, but now find after time that some literally sits under used, and some I couldn't do without.
My main mower is a Toro recycler - been ( touch wood) a brilliant tool, covering all sorts of grounds and conditions. And when visiting regular, no grass box to empty ( heaven)
The Kazz Danarm literally lives at one site, and the Quantum Hayterette falling behind the Toro, but used occasionally for those tough/rough grounds.
My Billy Goat Vacuum has only had one outing - and never used the tube - its like new.
The Eliet Chipper has finally started to earn it's keep at last!!!
Scarifier has had a few outings, but is too weedy ( Wolf Garten Verticuttier, very light- well - doh obviously - but actually does a reasonable job albeit slowly.
The Honda versatool and accessories is indispensable ( have edger, strimmer and hedge cutter plus extension) - heavy but beautiful.
As is the Makita Blower.
SO thumbs UP for Toro,Versatool and Blower. and Thumbs down for Billy,Eliet and Kazz ( Billy Elliot and Kes?) - though less so for Eliet perhaps.
Sometimes I wish I could swap out my "mistakes/cock ups" for stuff I know would get used/earn money
Bloody expensive learning curve this game innit?

yes a bit of a chicken/egg situation, one may need a certain tool to be able to say to clients, "i can do this particular task" before there is even a job lined up to use it. And then one finds in the real world that the must have gadget is not all it is cracked up to be. A lot of my petrol kit is gathering dust as I use mainly cordless now but am reluctant to part with it for some unknown reason. Maybe I am some kind of hoarder of gardening equipment lol
