I would rather do band work and strengthen your arms up than use the harness, it looks like a right faff
I wouldn't think strengthening the arms would really help if the problem is with the joints. On a plus side, I've found these sort of problems seem to just clear up on their own after a while though I'm sure that resting the joint would really be the ideal treatment....... tricky when there's bills to pay though.
I had one of these for using with my long reach combi. It was good for supporting the weight, but limited in the angle you could use. The engine actually melted the plastic holder in the end and my dealer gave me a refund.
