Stihl Kombi or similar

Hello,

My strimmer has died

It's part of a cheap 2 in 1 and the engine is dying too.

I need to replace it and thinking of the stihl km 94 with

Hedge cutter

Strimmer

Blower

Pole saw

I've heard their hedge cutters are on hold til Sept, is this true?

Or is it better in the long run to bite the bullet and go cordless? Are there any batteries powerful enough for hedge trimming or would it be stand alone petrol hedge trimmer, battery strimmer/blower

From experience lately I prefer cutting the tops in a ladder so would also want a short reach trimmer. Any suggestions?

What do people use for reducing and cutting through thick branches rather than just trimming?

Where has the 'hedge cutters are on hold' come from ?

We've just replaced two Stihl hedge cutters last week that were ordered in and appeared at the Dealers within the week. If Stihl, you're looking at HS8x's for that type of work....Worth reading this...........

However, I know Stihl gmbh tend to shut for two weeks in Summer and non-UK stocked spares dry up until they're back.

I've heard the same it's for the 135 degree attachments and the pole cutters.
Something to do with changing to 0-145 instead of 0-135 degrees

They're the new version of the articulating long reach - probably just been a success and stock low....

I've been told by one of my dealers that unless they have the old style long reach attachments in stock then it's a no go until Stihl sort the design flaw in the new model apparently?

To add, I brought the last Kombi long reach hedge cutter attachment in stock from WGM in April , and they have said still no sign of any coming in until at least September.

Not heard the design fault but I have been told by 2 local dealers that they have yet to see ANY of the new style machines like hens teeth it seems. The design flaw could be the reason!

I've seen a video on instagram with one. Only time I've ever seen them.

The new style kombi hedge trimmer attachments are now trickling through to dealers. I picked ours up this week having waited since end of April.

I was just about to pull the trigger on the Echo when they rang to say it had arrived!
