10 years is good enough for most tools in my opinion. Let it die. Or get a new pot and piston aftermarket ones should not be too expensive. I would go new though to me it's worth it as when you pull the cord it will go.
Just an aside these things like to be used.
Also have a look at the echo stuff they have 5 year homeowner warranty on them I think
Agree with Richard.......... an aftermarket piston/cylinder kit can be bought for under £40 however you've got to be able to fit it yourself or it's not worth it. I wonder why it seized though.......... did you put ordinary fuel in?........ Haven't done it myself fortunately though I'd imagine it's easy to do if you're in a hurry.

well in the end I followed your advice and just got another identical model for €250 which is the same a it was 10 years ago !
