Hi Nick, we have the blower, strimmer, hedge cutters and long reach hedge cutters and they are great! The blower and strimmer eat batteries so if you can, get the fast charger and take it out with you. The hedge cutters are great with an AP200 and have lasted over 5 hours of fairly constant hedge cutting.
Budget prevented me from getting a backpack initailly but I would imagine they are a bit warm to wear in the summer and I don't believe (correct me if I'm wrong) they are particulaly waterproof as they come with a plastic cover.
You might manage till autumn without it but I would imagine it's necessary for the strimmer unless you have lots of smaller batteries.
The long reach and short reach are ok with the adapter balance wise but the long reach is very well balanced with a battery it in.
The newest additions to the cordless range seem to be designed for the back pack, but my local dealer says he does not know of any plans for new long reach in the near future.
So I think I'll probably go with a couple of small batteries initially as it's the it's longreach I'll be using for longer periods of time.
Cheers,
Nick
