Selective herbicide

Hello guys.Anyone know what selective herbicide lawn care company's use for weed control? Saw one of the chaps spraying it the other day and it was going on the boarders and he said it won't harm any of the plants. Sounds great stuff. Thanks

    • Hello Jack. Excuse my ignorance, what is longbow?

A selective herb - in my experience many are a dirty colour. We're guessing off a colour though, it could have been anything.

Usually they use pre-formulated 2 or 3 way mixes which definitely would kill the majority of shrubs or plants. I would agree that it may have been some form of nutrition, insecticide, fungicide or anything else that wouldn't harm the shrubs.

  • 2,4-D is a selective herbicide but is the opposite way round i.e. it won't kill the grasses (monocotyledons) but WILL kill the dicotyledons (all other plants - shrubs, flowers, trees, etc)
