Round organisation.

Alright.I am looking for a system app or programme to make my life much easier.I have a reasonable round of mostly grass cutting some hedges and weeding etc.I have evolved a kind of tick list for which customer is due a cut when they have been cut and if they have paid.It seems to take an age to organise and let them know im coming. I beleive there are some good thimgs for window cleaners but we only really need this for 6 months a year.I am also very interested in the group message fearures could this be done another way? What do you all use? as I spend an age working on this. There must be something easier and more up to date.

Started with Jobber this year, tried one or two others and found them lacking in one area or another. Jobber does everything I need and plenty I don't need.

I like the recurring visits setup, with options to invoice after visit, end of the month etc. Also fairly easy to track invoices from draft to payment, don't have to keep track of everything like I did last year.

    • How much is Jobber a month ?
Looks like 89 dollars where im looking . That would be too much.
I could stretch to £25 but also need to shut it down in the winter.

    Calendar on phone?
That's what I use along with my head!
Most phones let you do set intervals i.e. Weekly fortnightly monthly etc and a custom one.

To add to that I have roughly set days in my head/calendar but not many clients actually know when I'm coming exactly just to within a 2-3 day period. As long as the garden or grass or whatever is kept right they don't mind

I'm still pretty old skool with this at the moment.I have my customer database on Excel on the computer and then those that are due for that week are entered in to an A5 day to day diary.I tick them off once done and mark them down as paid or unpaid.

I think one of the key things is what Richard has already said, that a lot of the organizing is cut out by not having to tell people when you're coming. I have one or two clients who might forget to leave a gate open so those people get a group text reminder the night before.

It's pen and paper for me!  I have a diary and simply keep it up.  Today for example, each call I made I noted what was done (for the invoice) and made a note on the appropriate day I'm due to next visit. Each morning I send a text with an eta to all who are due. So simple, No flat battery, no lost phones, no thief magnet, no worries!

It's also handy when I get calls to do the large one cut a year hedges. I know when they are coming up so I simply glance in the diary and have a look what I charged 'em last year.

Unless you are organising teams of guys, I don't see what could be simpler. (But I am old!!!)

take their card details and charge each day before you do the jobs. Any failed transaction and you can postpone. that way no unpaid jobs

No, but I also don't keep all my customers in an excel spreadsheet or charge by the hour ;-)
