Project Time Lapse Camera

I'm looking for an external time lapse camera to cover a forthcoming project and after any recommendations, suggestions, gotcha's etc

I've had a good look around (via Amazon and specialist sites) and there are so many options to choose from, all implying they are the best!

Clearly needs to be external grade (weatherproof), ideally with several power sources (nice if can take inpout from a small solar panel), have various mounts, high res, time laspe options, auto focus, in colour, take largest memory card available and easy to to setup / use and download etc. No challenge there then :)

So, anyone have any direct, practical experience ?

Hi Gary not so much on this but I did set up a dvr once for a customer who then set it to take pictures instead of continuous recording, I also know most home dvr recorders you can play with the settings to do this and allweather outdoor cctv cams are cheap as chips so would possibly allow more than 1 angle and plenty of memory aswell.

I have a dvr at home and on record with a 500gb drive running 2 cameras will record in segments of 12 hours for 5 weeks before deleting the oldest recording and both cams are inferred night vision so if your big project has some nice wildlife wondering about at night etc you could include that in editing.

all you would need is a good stopmotion program to assemble the pictures into a video sequence and chose your run speed etc

  • have a look on amazon for a brino construction camera thats what ive had for a while and its great.
