Hello Harry, I don't really use the chat function much but I can't see you as online... Just a guess but maybe you can't see them when your incognito?
No problem, not really sure this is the issue but worth a try...There's a small cog wheel icon next to the chat button, if you click on that, you should be able to select your available, busy, invisible or offline. I'm guessing your currently set to invisible or offline.

Harry, I can use Chat ok on an iPhone 6. On my iPhone, when you click on the grey tab at the bottom on the LJN screen, it opens a new Page/Tab and I can Chat to anyone who's online and in Chat
Try clearing Safari's cache via Settings/Safari/Clear.
Here's my iPhone's settings if that helps confirm you're at least on par:
