Hi all,

I am looking for a new chainsaw helmet and I am after your recommendations please. I currently have a Stihl aero light. I find it a good light helmet but I find the hearing protection to be insufficient. However hard I try they the ear defenders do not seem to form a nice seal around my ears. I would need the product to be fit for the following tasks. Chainsaw work, chipper work, hedge cutting and strimming (fixed blade and line). Thank you in advance for and help or advice you are able to give.

Benedict.

  • My husky one is quite comfy

    • What model do you have James?
      • I don't actually know, I tried it on in the shop and found it comfy so bought it. I will look when i next go to the farm!

It looks like forest helmet classic

I've got a Husqvarna one too and I chose it over the Sthil because the ear defenders seem so much better. Not sure what model either, but I think it's just the standard one.

I have an old Husky one again sorry I don't know what model it is it was given to me. I also prefer it as the Stihl ear defenders are a little weird. However I have a Stihl Brushcutter mask (G500) and the ear defenders on that are very comfortable for me, don't know why they're different they seem to mount the same way.

    • The g500 is very comfy, but the full helmets aren't! Makes no sense
  • Husky all the way Stihl can't do helmets for toffee
  • I got a new one Monday & wore it all day yesterday while chipping, it is such an improvement on my old stihl one !.Its the Scott tuff master, it has peltor ear defenders a good sturdy large visor & the sizing is dial adjustable, cost me £50, but I got it locally so was able to try it for comfort. Also got a pair of meindl air stream boots !

  • I have a husky with mesh visor and the ear defenders seem ok for me but if you are worried about it get some of the sponge in ear protectors

    • Thanks David, I'm currently using it with ear plugs as well. Not very convenient when working with others as I keep having to take them out to hear what they are saying.
