Petrol brush cutter

Hi guys,I'm in the market for a new petrol brush cutter capable of taking whatever overgrown we that we tend to throw at it, so it needs to pack a punch.I'm normally as Husky or Kawak fan But I've also seen that Makita sell a four stroke range, any suggestions? It's time to call on the experience of you long term users out there.Cheers,David

Have s look at the top of the range stiga. I bought one to try earlier this year ands it's good
  • Thanks Richard, I'll take a look. What model is it?
  • Monster! It's a yellow version of the Kawasaki BK45ED Brushcutter

      I think it's the BK53ED as its a 53 cc engine.

    Get a Stihl FS400 http://www.stihl.co.za/STIHL-Products/Trimmers-Brushcutters-and-Cle...

It's quite possibly the industry standard dare I say!

I've got one shame they don't sell them here anymore!
      Perfect top end stuff.
The stiga is not as good but it won't be for about half the price! Value wise I would say the stiga beats it as its not much worse than the Stihl big clearing saws for loads less money
      • Cheers Richard, I figure if Im going to be using it every day I need to get the best I can afford. I've been told the Kawak engines are bomb proof

It's heavy though that's one thing to remember probably 2.5-3 kg heavier than the fs400
    • I think the FS360 is the lowest Vibes in this range now and it is amazing for large small trimming jobs or clearance work. Never had it struggle. Can use all day without tiring
