One for the lawn treatment guys...

Approx 80% of our garden maintenance work is mowing which for a self confessed lawn nut is great. As a consequence of this, we are regularly asked for lawn treatments which this year we are offering. Whilst I'm happy with our seasonal fertiliser choice and herbicide, I'm unsure how to go about tackling fungal disease. Whether to treat preemptively or treat as required. Also, should this be included in our fertliser service price or as an option? To me, it would make sense not to use additional chemicals until required and then charge accordingly.

    Hi Mark,

As you're mowing regularly, you'll be a the lawn frequently and so will be able to spot early signs of any fungal problems. So charge separately, they are an expensive product - no need for preemptive.

As a value add to any spray that can be included within your pricing, look at seaweed soil conditioners.

    • Hi Andrew, thanks for the advice and will look at seaweed soil conditioners now.

Have been using Maxicrop seaweed extract in the green house for more years than I care to remember.

    Hi Mark,

sorry no experience. I'm using Agrigem Nutrigem at the moment, plus have used GBR Kelpac earlier in the season. Very happy with both these products.
