Only in the Soviet Socialist Republic of Britain :)
I thought this was only for shops / pubs? Seems a little draconian.
Money grabbing cash strapped LA workers and have the constabulary nothing better to do either?
For a start the LA should repair the roads so we don't pay out the same again and again for potholes' damage while the coppers would do well to take machinery theft more seriously than simply filling in paperwork while knowing who the culprits are.
Fuming....no pun intended.
They walk amongst us.
It has its full of self righteous zealots and idiots who who make equally idiotic laws. I look forward to the day when they suddenly have a huge tax hike to pay because there is no one left subsidizing them and paying all the outrageous taxes on cigs, booze...
I've watched our town centre of Northwich fall into a complete s**t tip as the result of successive local authorities. It could have been a great place it had loads of Black and Whites and the Victorian boat lift as USP's and yet the LA is just letting all the old buildings rot, get mysteriously burned down...to produce what? Yet another boring town centre with no heritage?
Can't wait to get to the point of being able to sell my business and F off to a country, that values people who contribute.
I can proudly say (not) that I have received a letter off our local council as a member of staff was spotted smoking in the van. It was a very nice letter highlighting the law and regulations and the threat of a large fine as as company director! Now the vans have at least two NO SMOKING stickers in the cab.
However, if the van is owned by an individual and not a company then the rules do not apply.
A certain gentleman in the know told me to get some of those electronic fags in the van just in case we every get stopped again as these are exempt plus I was also told it is acceptable to stub the ciggy out in the vehicle ashtray rather than on the ground if you get my drift :-)
Whatever your views on smoking are and I agree it is totally disgusting and bad for you,but if two members of staff both smoke I can't see why they can't do it in the van whilst driving to their next job. It certainly helps mask the smell of the rotting grass in the back of the van!
Christ!! I smoke in the van ALL THE TIME.
There is, ironically, a very faded no smoking sign on the dashboard from the previous owner.
Well, they can sod off!! My Van My rules!!
I am courteous enough that if I drive my other van that my dad uses who doesn't smoke, I don't smoke in it!
Shouldn't have reread this post as it made me incandescent with rage!We all work far to hard for some jumped up little jobsworth to fine us £200.You don't get fined that much for assault so may as well make it worthwhile and give him a poke in the eye!
Will calm down now.....its Friday thank God
have a no smoking sign in mine down to earth gardening
