About time too - was bemoaning the hayter situation with my local dealer / mechanic just today. He was telling me of another local dealer that had returned 6 new broken customers mowers back to the factory in 1 day so no way I'd consider a new 48 or 56 at the moment. I'm looking at selling our pair of old 56's wide bag models and getting a new weibang 56 pro in the spring.
am I right in thinking hayter was bought out by another company a while back ?
Hayter is effectively now owned by Toro and there's a merging of ideas & rebadging
They've got some info up on their website now - surpised to see it's got a Honda GCV160.
Well spotted Ross, I looked but obviously not well enough ! On first sight it looks like it could be good. The B&S engine on my current one is 130cc and can be a bit temperamental, guess the Honda at 160cc is going to have a bit more oomph. Grass bag looks a lot bigger as well. Wash out port à la Toro design (does anyone ever use it though ?!). Give me an electric start version (I'm lazy) and I might be tempted.
oops just noticed current B&S engine is 190cc so this one has a smaller engine
Wash port looks like a good idea, but I always prefer to brush/scrape the decks when dry and finish with a pressure wash, just heading in with the pressure washer only makes a right old mess.
Might just be the photo, but has that got a mulch plug fitted as I can't see the ejection chute ?
