Multi van insurance

Hello, does anyone have any tips or suggestion on insuring multiple vehicles. I have just got a third van on the road now and taken on two guys and looking at getting some group insurance on all 3 vans in one policy. Not insured this way before as the other two vans have separate policy's but thinking it should hopefully work out easier as well as less expensive by insuring all 3. Any help or advice on this is appreciated.

  • same situation and been using aviva multivan insurance for last two years. very good cheap compared to the rest and will haggle at renewal time. also worth getting rac fleet cover. all three vans covered for about £200 and they now will fix and repair stuff at side of road like starter mortors etc

Use a broker and get mini-fleet insurance. Then you don't have to worry about naming drivers on each policy.

The only caveat is that you will 'lose' all of your NCB on the existing policies when they are transferred over, and your fleet policy will have a 'claims experience' instead. From our experience if a van is involved in a small accident then they haven't taken us to the cleaners upon renewal!

We use Academy Insurance (www.academybasingstoke.co.uk) for one company and A-Plan for another https://www.aplan.co.uk/bournemouth

Both are very good but we always shop around on renewal for a reality check - but it is also nice to speak with the same member of staff year on year!

As Thermo said, try Aviva. I just renewed my 2 VW t4's with them for £385 with missus as named driver on each and with legal protection.

Thermo, that's a great price on three vans

    • edward the £200 was for the rac breakdown cover not the insurance. well worth considering for a small fleet

Ah, I misunderstood then. Still a good price. You might be interested to know that i was told they have now cut ties with RAC and its now their own breakdown cover. I forget what they called it. I've got seperate RAC cover but when it expires i might see about their breakdown cover. I can add it to my policy with AVIVA as you can go online and adjust things for yourself.

        • the rac fleet cover iis nothing to do with aviva, i bought it direct through rac

Same as me then. Been much better for me than the AA ever was.

Still might consider Aviva breakdown cover at renewal time but need to hear some reviews first.

We use QDOS insurance for breakdown. £185 for four vehicles recovered to anywhere in the U.K. incl European breakdown for one of them.
  • William Taylor Insurance do fleet insurance at very good rates. I pay approx £1500 a year for a van, truck and SUV. Anyone over 25 can drive.

Call Freddy on 01708 855141 and tell him i recommended him.
