He's just said!! 2.5 tall Roots 50 x 40 cms. I think I'd signicantly widen the hole on one side and put a slope there...... you should then be able to lean it over and drag it up the slope you've created.

Me being stupid would probably try and just lift it out as 40 by 50 root ball is not that big. It's getting a good hold on it that's the problem!!
