Moss killer

A job for myself this one actually...A couple of years ago as an experiment I sprayed a corner of my roof (tiles) with left over moss killer. It was cheap stuff from a garden centre. I forgot I had done it and about 8months later I noticed the roof was completely clear of all moss and even lichen - the tiles looked like new and still do.I'm going to do the whole roof this time and was wondering what there is commercially that I can buy as I will be doing my roof as well as parents.

  • I use MMC Pro. Does the job so long as the moss is properly dry when you apply it. I guess that's be more difficult with the thick clumps on a roof, as they never seem to dry out.

  • algoclear pro! just done loads of block paving, a small patch of roof for a client and two sides of their house. Within days algae went from green to black on the house.

    • Just answered my post for me!

Was that green algae on paint  / stone / dash?

      • Green algae on masonry paint. It looks like some sort of pebble dash wall underneath though. Roof tiles were the old asbestos type.

  • Thanks Paul - how quick do you see results with the lichen?

    Anyone tried this stuff? http://www.mossgo.co.uk
