LJN member meet-up 9-13 February

As you (hopefully) already know, Progreen and LJN are running a Practical Pesticides roadshow from 9-13 February.

In previous years, when we've had meet-ups, we've had 2-3 hours of chat then some of us have stayed on for a meal. On this occasion we will take up 2-3 hours discussing pesticide related topics and then finish off with a general informal discussion relating to LJN, business and anything else.....this big melting pot has worked so well in the past.

I will also be around in the early evenings if any members wish to stay on for something to eat. Nothing grand - who remembers the all you can eat curry night at the Premier Inn in Stirling or the all you can eat buffet in Bristol:)

It might mean a short journey to a suitable hostelry as the venues we've booked for the Practical Pesticides event are clubhouses and not your normal meeting room.

As we are visiting two venues on Wednesday 11 Feb, we won't be able to do a meet-up there as we will be moving to Kent in the afternoon but if anyone is interested we may be able to sort something out between the two.

Who's up for it?

Sounds good to me if you are planning one for the Bourne area. Am sure Progreen can suggest somewhere pretty local for some food... Failing that I know of a few places!

      Yes, could do Adam.

My flight is not until late afternoon on Saturday so I could stay in or around Bourne on the Friday night.

      Is Bourne far from you?

      Anyone else for Bourne>

Bourne from me is about 8 miles (15 minutes) - of which 1.5 miles are from my house to the 'main' road.

My second most local town in fact.

Quick bit of advise for anyone heading to Bourne who doesn't know the area and is following Sat Nav - parts of 'Counter Drain Drove' (adjacent to the willow trees on the left after the left hand corner from Pode Hole direction), 'Long Drove' and 'South Fen Road'  (after the right turn over Counter Drain bridge), all within a few miles of Progreen at Bourne are all uneven and have a very rough surface in places and have hidden sudden dips where the road has sunk due to heavy HGV and agricultural freight (some of which goes to the scrap yard halfway down South Fen Road) .

South Fen Road from Bourne direction also has a few bad spots from memory.

        Caution is advised!

              Where you staying Phil
              • PRO

Sorry for the delay in replying Brian.

I've just booked to stay at the Premier Inn Leith Waterfront for the 8th Feb.

Richard and Louise of Progreen will be staying there too. We were thinking of going into the city for a meal and drink that evening...would you be interested in doing that?

                Let me know.

Same of anyone else who would like to join us for a meal and drink on the Sunday evening (nothing flash or expensive).

The pesticide meet-up will be the following day.
