As far as i know the 'burn' it in is a figure of speech. You mark it out with paint and when happy with the job then burn it in with weedkiller.
Ah yes. But I thought the use of weedkiller is banned from playing fields, and if not, any application of a chemical can only be made by an suitably qualified/trained person.
There was nothing approved for a while and I believe the FA have their own view on their use (football pitches) but Kurtail Gold is approved for use as a line marking weedkiller (0.5 or 2L) - Yes, for qualified use

Very helpful thanks Richard.
Just remember that burning lines in looks crap. For a nice looking playing field you have to keep overmarking with paint on a regular basis and forget the weedkiller.
I packed in the burning in a couple of years ago and the marking out looked miles better. However i'm thinking of reverting back to it as the constant overmarking nearly bankrupted me and put me on the brink of a nervous breakdown !
Cheers for that info, I shall over-mark and make it look lovely until I go bust then!
