Hello guys I'm Kingsley this is my first time posting here so let me know if I've posted in the wrong place ect.Anyway is there any way of using a cheap mechanical/ hydraulic lift to move a grab bag as this would save alot of time.

    Hi Kingsley
If you mean bulk bags....as in 1 tonne bags of gravel etc.
You can hire machine from HSS etc.....it's not that cheap though

Pallet trolley would be cheapie option but they only like really flat ground.
What is it you are doing?
    • Alright that may work in some situations, was just wanting something to lift the bag into place and cut over disired area but had to be cheap, as would save alot of time when shoveling large quantities
      • If large quantities get loose??

Surely if you have a good supplier/driver they will crane bag over where you want while you slice bottom. Makes life simples that way

Bulk bags are a pain when full but unless your emptying multiple bags or have a really long drag they don't take that long by barrow. I don't do much of that stuff now but any more than one bag is either collected from gravel pit or delivered in loose now as it's easier
  • Try and get the bag set on a trailer or a few pallets to raise it up and cut the side as you empty the bag - it's easier shovelling down bank than faffing around trying to shovel out of the bag.

If you can get it emptied on a trailer just empty the bag when the grab wagon puts it on.
    • Yeah cheers David I've started to do this and can be twice as fast with MOT
