Leaf blowers

I'm in the market for a new blower and was about to buy a Stihl BG86 which seems to be well reviewed and well established. Then I saw that Husqvarna have a new model for about the same price - the 525BX. I can't find any reviews on this model - probably because it is so new. Just wondered if anyone had any experience of them?

  • I'd stick with the tried and trusted Stihl for the moment. It works well, long lasting and reliable.   New models can often have teething problems and do you want to be the "guinea pig" that finds them!

  • A few years ago I used a new Husqvarna backpack blower several times instead of our usual Stihl. What stuck in my mind about it. One, that it vibrated much more than the Stihl and it was noisier. Also it was very impressively powerful. I didn't like using it because I felt shaken to pieces using it and couldn't wait to get it off. But it done the job very well. Maybe hopefully the new model is better, could be worth trying it out for a while first.

  • Thanks for the advice guys. I played safe and bought the Stihl.
