Leaf Blower ban in Camden

Had a discussion with a customer the other week after they argued that leaf blowers were pointless. They were  unconvinced when I was adamant they were one of my (expensive) and most labour saving, couldn’t-do-without pieces of kit.

Was trying to find a you-tube demo to prove my point, and other than reading they’de been banned in Camden during the summer (call for a nationwide ban!) could only find this:

Any pointers to a useful you-tube prove-my-point leaf blowers are good video would be appreciated!

  • Hah don't show this one... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXI681M2hDE&feature=related

I admit for straight forward leaves on a large area of lawn I get the big mower out... very thorough and quick. For clearing debris from shrub beds though there is no equal to the blower. Everything gets thrown onto the lawns to be mowed up.

  • Wow I'd hate to be in Camden!

Without doubt my blower Vac is one of my number one pieces of essential equipment. It saves me time and my back from bending lol.

I take it it is due to the noise that they produce or is it simply that some big wig thinks there is no point in using one?

  • I too used to have complaints from some customers that seemed to hate it, Due to noise but they would say that it creates dust as well.

I used the hand one espcialy on big drives.

I remember that I used to maintain many gardens of buildings- in a city on same road so I had a full day with a whole team there- and to the point the noise that road had just from gardeners was really a night mare.

( things were growing really fast there and you could every day hear the professionals gardening tools-( hedge cutters, blowers, strimmers). I am few years away from it and do not miss the noise.

Funny movie Dan, btw did you have a good holiday?

  • i do 4 regular sites in london,   20 mins on each one with a blower every fortnight.

nothing else will do the job !  - it saves the clients say 30 mins extra time to pay = £30 saving to them ...
